tapNotes ("the App") is developed by Seven Venture Labs ("we", "us"). This policy explains what data the App accesses and how it is used. tapNotes is designed to work fully offline — your notes are stored locally on your device and are not uploaded to any server we operate.
Data We Access
Notes content: Stored locally on your device in an on-device SQLite database. We do not have access to your notes and they are not transmitted to us.
Photos and attachments: If you attach a photo to a note, the App accesses your photo library only for the image(s) you select. Attachments are stored locally alongside your note.
Microphone: Used only if you record an audio note. Recordings are stored locally on your device.
Biometric authentication and PIN lock: The App lets you lock the whole App or individual notes with a device PIN or biometrics (Face ID / fingerprint). Your PIN is stored as a secure hash on your device using secure on-device storage; biometric data itself is processed entirely by your device's operating system and is never accessed, transmitted, or stored by us.
Notifications and reminders: If you set a reminder on a note, the App schedules a local notification on your device. This data stays on your device and is not sent to any server.
Home-screen widget: The Android widget reads note data locally from your device to display it on your home screen. No data leaves your device for this feature.
Backup and restore: The App can export your notes to a JSON file you choose to save or share, and can restore notes from a JSON backup file you select. This file is created and read locally; we do not receive a copy of it unless you choose to send it to us or a third party yourself.
Advertising
The App displays ads through Google AdMob. AdMob may collect device identifiers and usage data to serve relevant ads and measure performance, per Google's own privacy practices. You can review Google's policy at https://policies.google.com/privacy. You may remove ads via an optional one-time in-app purchase.
In-App Purchases
Purchases (such as removing ads) are processed by Google Play Billing. We do not receive or store your payment information.
Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We do not have servers that store your notes, photos, or recordings — everything relevant to your content stays on your device unless you choose to export or share it yourself.
Data Deletion
Since all note data is stored locally, uninstalling the App removes this data from your device. You may also delete individual notes at any time within the App.
Children's Privacy
tapNotes is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date.
